Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This policy sets out how CoachDiscover approaches the safety of children and vulnerable adults, what we require of coaches, and how to report a concern.

Our commitment

Sports coaching can involve children and vulnerable adults. CoachDiscover is committed to providing a safe environment and expects everyone using the platform to share that responsibility. Coaching services are delivered by independent coaches, who are responsible for the safety of their own sessions.

Coach requirements

  • Hold the qualifications, insurance, and clearances required to coach in their listed sports.
  • Where they coach children or vulnerable adults, hold an appropriate background check (for example an enhanced DBS check in the UK) and follow the governing body’s safeguarding guidance for their sport.
  • Conduct sessions professionally and appropriately, and never use the platform to groom, harass, or exploit any user.

Verification

Coaches submit identity and qualification documents, which our team reviews before a coach can display a verified badge. Verification is a reasonable-checks process and is not a guarantee; athletes and guardians should still exercise their own judgement.

Coaching minors

Accounts are intended for users aged 18 or over. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account for any athlete under 18 and provide consent for sessions. We recommend that a parent or guardian is present or reachable for sessions involving a minor.

Reporting a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern, stop and report it immediately to support@coachdiscover.com. You can also flag inappropriate messages in-app for our moderation team. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.

Our response

We take reports seriously and may suspend accounts, remove content, and cooperate with the authorities where appropriate. See our Terms of Service for account suspension rules.
