What the verified badge actually means
Plenty of platforms show a badge without saying what sits behind it. Here is precisely what we check before a coach can display one — and, just as importantly, what it does not promise.
Documents reviewed by a person
Coaches submit identity and qualification documents. A member of our team reviews them before the badge can appear — it isn't granted automatically on sign-up, and it can be withdrawn.
Qualifications shown on the profile
Once approved, the qualification titles are displayed as chips on the coach's profile and search card, so you can see what was accepted rather than taking a badge on faith.
A completeness bar before anyone is listed
A profile has to be at least 80% complete to appear in search at all. Half-finished listings aren't discoverable, verified or not.
Reviews only from real sessions
A review can only be left against a completed booking made through the platform. There is no way to post a review without having trained with that coach.
Your payment is held in escrow
Money is held until your session is complete, so paying up front doesn't mean handing over funds with no recourse. Cancellation terms are shown before you pay, not after.
What it does not mean
- Verification is a reasonable-checks process, not a guarantee. It does not certify that a coach is right for you, and you should still use your own judgement.
- Coaches are independent professionals, not our employees. They are responsible for how their own sessions are run.
- We do not carry out background checks ourselves. Where a coach works with children or vulnerable adults, they are required to hold the appropriate clearance — such as an enhanced DBS check in the UK — and to follow their sport’s safeguarding guidance. See our safeguarding policy.
